SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The art of the kiss will be explored in a show by Carmichael singer Susan Skinner and clarinetist Del Gomes at Twin Lotus Thai restaurant on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Operated by pianist Joe Gilman, also a Carmichael resident, the restaurant is a Sacramento music and culinary hotspot.
Skinner and Gomes call their apres-Valentines presentation ‘Sealed With a Kiss’. Accompanied by the Hey Day Quartet, the lineup features jazz and pop tunes that celebrate the smooch.
“A kiss is an introductory handshake for love,” said Skinner. “A great old song calls kissing a fundamental thing that applies, as time goes by. From Louis Armstrong to Rogers and Hart, from Cher to Prince, there are lipstick marks throughout more than a century of popular music."
“Sealed with a Kiss” offers 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. dinner shows on Feb. 16. There is no cover charge but donations for artists are encouraged. To reserve, go to www.Twinlotusthai.com
Twin Lotus Thai restaurant is located at 8345 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
