Vacaville Sanctuary Launches "Raise the Roof" Campaign Ahead of Forecasted Super El Niño Winter

Herd & Flock sets $15,000 goal for Live Solano Give Solano giving day; hosts open house Sept. 18 & 22

VACAVILLE, Calif. — With NOAA forecasting one of the strongest El Niño winters on record, Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary is launching "Raise the Roof for the Blue Barn" to reinforce its central animal shelter before severe storms arrive. The sanctuary is targeting a $15,000 kickoff goal during Live Solano Give Solano on October 7, when early donations will be doubled.

The Blue Barn houses four rescued pigs, Rico Rooster and his flock of ten hens, and shelters resident steers and goats. With drainage work underway and a potential Super El Niño ahead, the sanctuary is moving up roof and gutter repairs to keep residents safe and dry.

Open House The public is invited to tour the barn and meet its residents.
